Compliance and Benefits
Dimesa complied with all the IHSS contract terms and conditions.
IHSS received all the 350 pieces of equipment and 558 new ones plus 190 radiation protection accessories. Dimesa kept around 99.5% of the operating equipment on a permanent basis.
100% of the medical and technical staff were progressively trained on the use and management of medical equipment.
Through this Biomedical project, Dimesa supported the IHSS in order to provide better services to Honduran patients, thus exhibiting a substantial progress in the quality of patient care and the previous yearly analysis. Also, the use of high end tech has helped reduced appointment delays and increase assistance on different medical fields.
Statistics show substantial increases in assistance on different medical fields within the IHSS thanks to the efficiency of the equipment. This enables the institution to be able to respond in a timely manner and immediately indicate the different medical needs of its patients.
The modernization and repair of IHSS’s medical equipment has also contributed to expand the medical diagnostics and services to patients.
The IHSS Biomedical project benefited 50,000 people more than it did in 2011.

Savings
Previously, IHSS spent large sums of money on equipment repairs and on private hospitals and clinics bills from patients referrals since assistance was not provided due to equipment failures. Due to the integral service contract signed in 2011, Dimesa assumed the responsibility for these repairs and failures, sparing the IHSS millions of lempiras that were earlier spent on a monthly basis.
Currently, the equipment repair and maintenance is the sole responsibility of IHSS.
Similarly, IHSS expanded its capacity of attention thanks to the benefits that was offered by the new equipment supplied by Dimesa, which enabled it to provide more and better quality services, to the patients’ benefit. It is estimated that in 2013 alone, this represented more than 884 million lemps.
The quality equipment supplied by Dimesa is from the most widely recognized and prestigious brands worldwide:
- General Electric
- Toshiba
- Olympus
- Drager
- Arthrex
- Karl Storz
- Storz Medical
